van Gaal Makes 2 Changes: Predicted Man Utd Starting XI To Face Swansea

Manchester United will look to cement their position in the top three when they take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Here’s the starting eleven I think Louis van Gaal will go with:

Goalkeeper: No decision for van Gaal to make here, Victor Valdes is a decent back-up but David De Gea is certain to start in goal this weekend.

Defence: Phil Jones continues to nurse a shin injury that he picked up during the early stages of last weeks win over Burnley. He missed Monday night’s FA Cup victory over Preston and should sit this one out again so van Gaal may opt to stick with Chris Smalling alongside Marcos Rojo at the back. Rafael has fallen out-of-favour so Antonio Valencia is likely to start at right back again while Luke Shaw is expected to keep his place on the left.

Midfield: Michael Carrick remains out with a calf injury so Daley Blind is expected to continue in the holding role in midfield. Ander Herrera put in an excellent display against Preston so deserves to keep his place which may see Marouane Fellaini miss out, despite his goal-scoring heroics on Monday. Angel Di Maria should make up the midfield trio with Juan Mata possibly coming in at the tip of the diamond.

Attack: Robin van Persie is expected to be available after missing the Preston game with a knock and he’s likely to replace the beleaguered Radamel Falcao after the Colombian was hauled off last time out after another frustrating display. Wayne Rooney was deployed in a more advanced role at Deepdale and we should see him continue there this weekend.

Here is how I think we’ll see United line-up:

What do you think? What team would you select for the game?
