[Player Ratings] Arsenal 2-0 Everton: Sanchez Quiet But Ospina Impresses

Arsenal moved back up to third place in the Premier League table after a 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates this afternoon with Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky getting the goals.

Here are my ratings:

Ospina  7.5/10 |  Did well to deny Lukaku early on and then produced a great save to keep the Belgian out again midway through the second half. Smart stop to deny Lennon.

Bellerin  6.5/10 |  Showed his pace down the right flank and was solid enough in defence.

Gabriel  7/10 |  A shaky start but made a superb goal-saving challenge to deny Lukaku with the score at 0-0. It proved to be a pivotal moment in the game.

Koscielny   7/10 |  Fairly comfortable afternoons work for Koscielny. Dealt with the Everton attack well.

Gibbs  6.5/10 |  We didn’t see much of him going forward but dealt well against Mirallas and Lennon.

Coquelin   7.5/10 |  Made a number of tackles and interceptions to protect the back four and was very good in possession. Soldiered on with a bloody nose.

Cazorla   7/10 |  Didn’t have his shooting boots on but the Spaniard worked hard getting up and down the pitch.

Oxlade-Chamberlain   6/10 |  Looked a danger when he saw the ball but unfortunately that wasn’t often enough.

Ozil   7/10 |  An odd game. He created 5 chances, got 2 assists and had a 91% passing accuracy. If you looked just at the stats you’d think he was outstanding. The fact is he wasn’t really in the game much today but he made two key contributions and the assist for Rosicky was excellent.

Alexis   6/10 |  Not at his best. He worked hard as usual but didn’t really have much of an impact.

Giroud    7/10 |  Got his goal after Wednesday’s disappointment and it was a fine right-footed finish. However, he also missed a couple of excellent headed opportunities.

Subs:

Rosicky  7/10 | Killed the game with a vital second goal.

Welbeck N/A
