Liverpool have been handed a timely injury boost as goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has taken to Twitter to confirm he’s back to full fitness after recovering from an ankle injury.

Mignolet suffered the knock against Manchester United when striker Wayne Rooney caught the keeper on his left ankle during the second half of last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Anfield.

The 27-year-old completed the full ninety minutes but he posted a photo on Twitter on Tuesday of his ankle heavily strapped after he met up with the Belgian national team.

However, Mignolet has now once again taken to Twitter to offer an update and says he’s back to full fitness and ready to take on Cyprus in their European Championship qualifier on Saturday evening.

The news will come as a welcome relief to Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as Mignolet should now be available for next weekend’s crucial trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal.

The Reds are already without suspended duo Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel, while there are injury doubts over Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana, so losing their No.1 would have been another real blow.

Here is what Mignolet posted on Twitter earlier:
