West Brom vs Liverpool Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Prediction & Betting

Liverpool take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday. Here’s a preview with team news, line-ups, predicted score and betting tips for the game.

West-Brom-Albion--The-Hawthorns

Liverpool will be looking to close in on the top four when they take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds head into the weekend action sitting fifth in the table and seven points adrift of Manchester City, but they do hold a game in hand so will be looking to put the pressure on with victory tomorrow.

Brendan Rodgers will need to pick his players up after last weeks hugely disappointing FA Cup semi-final defeat to Aston Villa but now they must focus on trying to qualify for the Champions League next season.

West Brom edged ever-closer to safety with an impressive victory over in-form Crystal Palace last weekend with Tony Pulis’ side now up to 13th in the table and eight points clear of the relegation zone.

However, the Midlands club will be keen to hit that all-important 40 point mark as soon as possible so they’ll be desperate to secure a positive result against Liverpool tomorrow afternoon.

Team news

The Merseysiders must make-do without Daniel Sturridge once again as he continues to nurse a troublesome hip injury.

Defender Mamadou Sakho and midfielder Lucas Leiva are both still out with thigh injuries but Jordon Ibe is back in contention after being cup-tied last week.

Adam Lallana could return to the squad after recovering from a groin injury but Jon Flanagan is still not available as he lacks match fitness after missing the whole season with a knee injury.

Andre Wisdom is ineligible to play against his parent club so he’ll join Youssouf Mulumbu on the sidelines as the midfielder serves the final game of his three-match ban.

Ben Foster remains out with a knee injury but Craig Dawson is expected to be fit despite limping off against Crystal Palace with a dead leg.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

West Brom 1-2 Liverpool: Pulis has made the Hawthorns a tough place to go again but I think Liverpool will be eager to bounce back from last weeks disappointment and will have enough to edge this one.

Betting Tips

Liverpool are the even money favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 6/1 for a Liverpool win, plus you’ll get money back if you lose and up to £100 in free bets. My prediction of 2-1 is on offer at odds of 8/1 while I also like the look of Raheem Sterling to open the scoring at 6/1. If we combine those bets in a scorecast then we get very tempting odds of 30/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
