[Tweets] Ozil, Walcott & More: Players Welcome Petr Cech To Arsenal On Twitter

Arsenal announced the signing of Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea earlier today and the players have been welcoming the goalkeeper to the Emirates on social media.

Cech asked to leave the newly-crowned Premier League champions after losing his first team place to Thibaut Courtois last season and the Gunners soon emerged as favourites to sign him.

After weeks of speculation, the move was finally announced on Monday afternoon with all parties involved confirming the deal on various forms of media. No official figures have been released, but the Daily Mail claim the Gunners have paid Chelsea £10m with Cech believed to have signed a four-year deal worth £100,000-a-week.

It wasn’t long before several of the Arsenal squad jumped on social media sites to send their welcome messages to Cech with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs and Hector Bellerin all reacting to the news on Twitter.

Theo Walcott also took to the social media site and he exchanged some banter with his new team-mate after reminding him he was the goalkeeper he scored his first Arsenal goal against, only for Cech to reply saying it won’t happen again [obviously, as they are now team mates!].

Cech’s arrival cast’s doubt over the future of a certain former No.1, Wojceich Szczesny. However, the Polish international has posted a message on his official Facebook page welcoming Cech to Arsenal and says he cant wait to learn from who he calls the best goalkeeper in the world.

Cech out the Arsenal players messages to Cech below:

Petr Cech, welcome to Arsenal FC!Delighted to have a chance to learn from one of the best GK's in the world!Petr…
