No signings in January, is Arsene right?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Arsene has come out to say that he will not be adding to the Arsenal squad in January. Since then there has been a chorus of criticism and disbelieve at his statement. However, I tend to agree with the Professor this time around.

The only positioning we had previously was in the goalkeeping department, and how we crave for a solid goalkeeper to shore up our defence. But since Fabianski came into his own, I don’t believe we need an addition in that department. Also I don’t think there is a keeper that is worth the money and would be willing to come to the Emirates.

All the goalkeepers we have been linked with previously like Schwarzer, Green, Lloris etc have all not been impressive so far. Each has made blunders and if we were to pay anything above the GBP2 million for Schwarzer, I would rather stick with Fabianski.

Elsewhere, I don’t see that we have a problem. In defense, Arsene has already brought in 2 players in the summer and I am sure he will not add another one in January. We are also bless with an abundance of quality in midfield and attack so no additions needed there.

So when Arsene says he is not buying anyone this January, I am all for it. Better to save the dosh for the next transfer window if Cesc leaves.
