Man Utd On Verge Of Completing Signing Of £35m-Rated Argentinean

Manchester United appear to be on the verge of completing their latest big-money signing with the Metro reporting today that Nicolas Otamendi is close to moving to Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal has been extremely busy in the transfer market already this summer having brought in five new players but he’s been strongly tipped to sign another centre-back before the window closes.
Otamendi was linked with a move to United earlier in the summer with the Express claiming last month that United officials had held formal talks with the players agent before they appeared to switch focus to Sergio Ramos.
However, with the Spaniard now expected to sign a new five-year contract with Real Madrid it looks like van Gaal has been forced to turn his attention back to Otamendi in his search for a centre-back.
The Metro are citing a report from Valencia-based TV station SillasGol who claim that the Argentinean international is now just a matter of a few minor details away from becoming a United player.
The paper carries quotes from the station’s director, Nacho Cotino, which were posted on Twitter claiming that they have obtained legal and tax-based proof that the deal is close to completion.
Who knows how much truth there is behind Cotino’s claims but the TV station’s director seems confident that United are on the verge of signing Otamendi, so I guess we should know more within the next few days.
The 27-year-old has developed into one of the best central defenders in Spain following his move to Valencia from Porto in January 2014 and I think he’d end up being an excellent signing if United could pull it off.

However, they’re going to have to be prepared to dig deep as the Express claim that Valencia are demanding the full value of his £35m buy-out clause so the Spaniard’s aren’t ready to let the defender go without a fight.
