By on August 29, 2015

Chelsea slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this afternoon as their poor start to the new season continues.

The visitors took the lead midway through the second half when Bakary Sako finished off at the second time of asking following a cut back from Yannick Bolasie.

Chelsea levelled things up 10 minutes later when substitute Radamel Falcao sent a diving header past McCarthy after a superb cross form Pedro in the 78th minute.

The majority of the Stamford Bridge crowd expected the Blues to push for the winner but it was Palace to secured the three points after Joel Ward headed home a Sako cross from close range in the 80th minute.

Chelsea couldn’t find a way back into the game so Jose Mourinho’s side have taken just four points from their opening four games this season.
