Euro Giants To Open Talks With Arsenal Over Audacious £37m Swap Deal

Spanish giants Real Madrid are ready to launch an audacious £37m player-plus-cash swap deal for Arsenal super-star Alexis Sanchez, according to the Express.

With the summer transfer window now closed for business it’s time to start looking at those deals that failed to get over the line and those which are being lined-up for the future. Today,  Real Madrid are linked with Alexis Sanchez…

Spanish giants Real Madrid are ready to launch an audacious £37m player-plus-cash swap deal for Arsenal super-star Alexis Sanchez, according to the Express.

Sanchez has been in red-hot form in recent weeks having scored six goals in his last three Arsenal games and he continued that form into the international break after netting three times in two games for Chile this past week.

It follows on from what was an outstanding debut season in England for the 26-year-old that saw him score 25 goals and set-up a further 12 to help Arsenal finish third in the Premier League and retain the FA Cup following his £30m move from Barcelona in 2014.

However, it appears Sanchez has now caught the attention of Real Madrid as the Express are citing a report coming out of Spain that claims the La Liga giants are preparing a cheeky bid for the Chilean attackers services.

The newspaper report suggests Madrid are ready to try and lure Sanchez back to Spain after identifying him as Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term replacement and they’ll apparently test Arsenal’s resolve with an offer of £37.3m in cash plus winger Denis Cheryshev in exchange for his signature.

The Express doesn’t indicate whether they’ll make their move in January or wait until next summer but I don’t think it really matters as Arsenal are almost certain to rebuff their advances.

Sanchez is undoubtedly one of our most important players and there are rumours the club are looking to offer him a new deal to secure his long-term future.

His current contract runs until 2018 so we’re under no pressure to sell and he’s shown no sign of discontent in North London, so I see no reason why we’d even contemplate selling him.
