By on October 17, 2015

Chelsea got their Premier League season back on track with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

After a tentative start, the Blues opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Willian robbed Joleon Lescott of possession before bursting in to the box and teeing-up Diego Costa to tap home for 1-0.

Chelsea doubled their lead shortly after half-time when Cesc Fabregas found Costa in the box with a lovely pass. The striker tried to square it across goal but the ball deflected off Alan Hutton and over Brad Guzan into the net for 2-0.

Villa couldn’t find a way back in to the game so Chelsea secured a 2-0 win ease the pressure on Jose Mourinho’s shoulders. The victory sees the West Londoners climb up to eleventh in the Premier League table while Villa remain in the relegation zone.
