Ramsey: Injured again

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during our win over Bayern Munich last night.

Ramsey started against the German giants in our vital Champions League clash but was forced off in the 57th minute after pulling up clutching his hamstring as he chased down a loose ball.

The Welsh international immediately signalled to the bench and limped straight down the tunnel with the clubs physio after being replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Speaking to the press after the game, Wenger confirmed the midfielder has suffered a ‘tough’ hamstring injury and is now facing a spell on the treatment table – although the boss stopped short of putting any timescale on his return.

Wenger told Arsenal.com:

on Aaron Ramsey…

He is alright but very down because he told me that his hamstring is quite a tough one. He is out.

No doubt Ramsey will undergo further tests today so we’ll have to wait for more information to come out before we’ll know for sure how long he’ll be out for but I’d personally be surprised if he plays again before the next international break.

A normal hamstring injury would take around three weeks to heal and if Ramsey’s is a ‘tough’ one it could be even longer, so I don’t think we’ll see him back until the players return from international duty to take on West Brom on November 21st.

That would see Ramsey miss Premier League games against Everton, Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur, the Capital One Cup clash at Sheffield Wednesday and of course the return leg in Munich.
