[Video Goals] Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 Arsenal: Owls Thrash Sorry Gunners

Arsenal crashed out of the Capital One Cup in spectacular fashion after being thrashed 3-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.

The Gunners suffered an early blow as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was forced off inside the opening two minutes after picking up a hamstring injury and it went from bad to worse when his replacement Theo Walcott also limped off with a calf problem just 15 minutes later.

Wednesday opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Ross Wallace cooly slotted home from the edge of the area before the hosts took control of the game with a second just before half-time. Lucas Joao heading home in the 40th minute for 2-0.

Any hope of an Arsenal revival were extinguished when Sam Hutchinson bundled home a third just after half time and Wednesday eased to a comfortable victory to send us crashed out of the League Cup.
