Tottenham Hotspur will look to build on last weeks thrashing of Bournemouth when they entertain Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday night.

Ahead of the game, boss Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference today and he’s given TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update.

Unfortunately, the Argentinean confirmed that he’ll once again be without the services of four players with Heung-Min Son, Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli and Alex Pritchard all still nursing injuries on the sidelines.

Son hasn’t played since suffering a foot injury during Spurs 4-1 victory over Manchester City at the end of September while Bentaleb, Chadli and Pritchard have all been sidelined with ankle problems in recent weeks.

Pochettino confirmed that all four players are slowly making their way back to full fitness and they’re being monitored regularly, but Monday’s game with Villa will come too soon.

He told the clubs website:

“Yes, the team news is the same at the last game – Nabil, Pritch, Chadli and Son are still out.

“We assess and analyse them every day and hope that they are ready to be in the squad as soon as possible.”

Tottenham will be desperate to get their injured men back as soon as possible as they face a busy six-day spell that sees them host Villa and Anderlecht before making the short trip to face North London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates next Sunday.

The good news is that Ryan Mason showed now sign of discomfort after returning to action with a 30-minute cameo appearance against Bournemouth last weekend so he could start against Villa on Monday.
