England Squad Announced: Eric Dier Joins Man Utd & Liverpool Stars In 23-Man Squad

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has been handed his first England call-up after Roy Hodgson named him in his 23-man squad this afternoon.

The Three Lions begin their preparations for next summer’s Euro 2016 championships with two friendlies against Spain and France later this month and Hodgson has just named his latest squad for the games.

Among those selected is Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier who makes the step up from under-21 level to the senior squad after his impressive display’s in midfield this season. Dier is one of four Spurs players named in the squad as he joins team mates Kyle Walker, Dele Alli and Harry Kane in the 23-man group.

Manchester United also have four representatives with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney all included along with Chelsea’s Gary Cahill.

Liverpool trio Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner and Adam Lallana are once again involved while Arsenal have just one player included in Kieran Gibbs with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all injured.

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph is included by Hodgson despite only recently returning to fitness following an injury and the same can be said for Everton defencer John Stones.

England take on Spain in Alicante on Friday 13th before entertain France at Wembley four days later and Hodgson will be hoping for some positive displays as he begins his preparations ahead of next summer’s Euro’s.
