[Video Goals] Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham: Gibbs To The Rescue For Arsenal

By on November 8, 2015

Kieran Gibbs came off the bench to score a second half equaliser to secure Arsenal a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at the Emirates this afternoon.

Spurs started the brighter of the two sides and took a deserved lead when Harry Kane raced clear to cooly slot past Petr Cech for 0-1 in the 32nd minute.

Arsenal gradually grew in to the game but were wasting a number of chances with Olivier Giroud the biggest culprit having missed at least two excellent opportunities to score.

However, the hosts eventually found a way through when Mesut Ozil found substitute Gibbs with a superb ball and the defender bundled home at the far post for 1-1 in the 77th minute.

Arsenal pushed for a late winner but Tottenham held out to secure a decent point with the draw seeing Arsenal move back level on points with league leaders Manchester City after they drew 0-0 at Aston Villa.
