Manchester United will look to move top of the Premier League table when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road this lunchtime.

Louis van Gaal has been hit by a quadruple injury blow ahead of the game. Anthony Martial misses out after suffering a foot injury during France’s friendly defeat to England last week while Michael Carrick is also out after picking up an ankle injury while away on international duty.

Wayne Rooney isn’t fit enough to start due to illness and van Gaal’s options have been further limited with the news that Marouane Fellaini has also been ruled out through injury.

However, Chris Smalling is fit to start after picking up a knock last week and Morgan Schneiderlin returns to midfield after missing the last two matches.
