Ramsey: Injured again

Arsenal moved level on points with Tottenham Hotspur after beating AFC Bournemouth 2-0 at Dean Court on Sunday afternoon.

Mesut Ozil broke the deadlock with a fine right-footed finish in the 23rd minute and it was 2-0 less than 60 seconds later as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired home form a tight angle to secure a vital three points. [watch the goals from the game here]

Here are player ratings:

Cech 8/10 | Superb save to deny Arter and made a crucial double stop near the end to keep the hosts at bay. Showed again how important he’s become for Arsenal.

Bellerin 7.5/10 | Solid at the back and made a goal-saving challenge to deny Marc Pugh a clear shot at Cech. Got himself involved going forward too.

Gabriel 6.5/10 | Almost gifted Bournemouth a way back in to the game with a poor error but got away with it. Improved in the second half.

Koscielny 7.5/10 | Another excellent display as he kept Benik Afobe quiet and was always on hand to snuff out the home side’s attacks.

Monreal 6/10 | Given a tough time by Smith and was caught out of position a few times. Usually recovered well but not up to his usual standards today.

Flamini 6/10 | Lucky to escape a red card with the score at 0-0 after a stupid two footed tackle. Did the simple stuff well but a very limited player.

Ramsey 8/10 | Back to something like his best form with an excellent all-round performance. Broke up play and initiated attacks while he also grabbed the assist for Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 7/10 | Pleased he finally broke his goal-scoring duck with a fine finish to make it 2-0. Some dangerous moments but didn’t see the ball enough.

Ozil 7.5/10 | Lovely finish to make it 1-0 and was at the heart of all our best attacking moments once again.

Sanchez 7/10 | Not yet back to his best but was still a danger and caused the Bournemouth defence some problems.

Giroud 6.5/10 | Clever header to set up Ozil for the opener but wasn’t a threat in front of goal at all. Looks like he could do with a rest.

Subs:

Coquelin 6/10 | Got another 20 minutes under his belt. Hopefully he’ll be fit to start against Leicester next weekend.

Gibbs N/A

Walcott N/A

It wasn’t vintage Arsenal but we did enough to secure a vital three points which puts us level with Tottenham and to within five of leaders Leicester ahead of our crunch game next weekend.
