Louis van Gaal man utd

Manchester United will look to give their top four hopes a major boost when they take on Watford at Old Trafford tonight.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult campaign but the pressure has eased on Louis van Gaal’s shoulders following three wins on the bounce.

The latest came with an impressive 3-2 victory over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon which saw United move to within just three points of fourth-placed Man City.

And with the newly-crowned Capital One Cup winners facing a tough trip to Anfield this evening, United have a great chance to move level with their city rivals with a win tonight.

However, Watford arrive at Old Trafford in fine form themselves having lost just one of their last six games in all competitions and Quique Sanchez Flores’s side could move level on points with seventh-placed Southampton with a win this evening.

Team news

United welcome Anthony Martial back in to the squad after he recovered from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out for the last two games but he may be deployed on the left wing as Marcus Rashford has scored four goals during his absence.

Matteo Darmian is also back in contention after recovering from a should injury while Marcos Rojo is expected to be passed fit despite being forced off with a foot injury against Arsenal.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Michael Carrick hasn’t been included in the squad while Chris Smalling has also missed out with a shoulder injury that’s seen him miss the last three matches.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Wayne Rooney, Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw are among those still unavailable for selection.

As for Watford, they’ll continue to be without Jose Manuel Jurado and Joel Ekstrand through injury.

Likely Line-ups

Predicted Score

Man Utd 2-1 Watford: United seem to have found some form again but with their mounting injury worries, I don’t think tonight is going to be an easy game for the Red Devils. Watford are a dangerous side and Denney and Ighalo will cause plenty of problems, but I think United might have just enough to collect another three points.

Betting Tips

Man Utd are the 8/13 favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 5/1 on a home win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. My prediction of 2-1 is on offer at 8/1 while I also like the look of Anthony Martial to open the scoring at 4/1. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 22/1.
