Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has taken to Twitter to offer an update on his recovery from a serious knee injury and says he’s looking to be back in action ‘asap’.

Cazorla has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee ligament injury during our 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road way back in November of last year.

The Spaniard has made steady progress in his rehabilitation with Arsene Wenger suggesting he should be back in action at some point next month.

Cazorla himself was forced to clear-up reports last week that he’d suffered a setback which had supposedly put his season in jeopardy and he’s now taken to Twitter again today to offer another update on his progress.

The 31-year-old uploaded a video of him working out [see below] along with a message saying he’s working hard to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Cazorla’s return can’t come soon enough as Arsene Wenger is suffering yet another injury crisis at just the wrong time of the season with Aaron Ramsey the latest player to pick up an injury last night.

The Welshman appears to have suffered a thigh injury during our 4-0 win over Hull City and is now facing another spell on the sidelines, while Per Mertesacker and Gabriel also picked up knocks at the KC Stadium.

However, it’s Ramsey’s absence that will be the most worrying as with Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta also on the sidelines, the boss has limited options in midfield.

Cazorla could make his return in early April and hopefully we’ll still be within touching distance of Leicester City at the top of the table by that point, while we could also be through to the semi finals of the FA Cup, so the midfielder could still have a major say in our season.
