Players from Manchester United and Liverpool have made it in to the official Europa League Team of the Week following their last-16 first leg clash last night.

Liverpool dominated for much of the game at Anfield and took control of the tie thanks to a 2-0 victory on Merseyside, with goals from Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino securing the win over their north-west rivals.

The scoreline could have been even more comprehensive had it not been for an outstanding performance from United goalkeeper David De Gea with the Spaniard making a number of fine saves to keep Louis van Gaal’s men in the game.

Unsurprisingly, after such a standout display, De Gea has been named in goal in the official Europa League Team of the Week.

De Gea joins two Liverpool players in the side with Nathaniel Clyne selected having won the penalty for the all-important first goal while Philippe Coutinho is rewarded for an all-round excellent display with a place in midfield.

Borussia Dortmund duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus both make the line-up after playing key roles in the German outfits comprehensive 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
