[Teams] Liverpool U21’s vs Man Utd U21’s: Skrtel & Valencia Start

Following on from their Europa League meeting last night, Liverpool and Manchester United face off against each other once again this evening as the under-21’s clash at Prenton Park in the Under-21 Premier League.

The Reds have taken the opportunity to give some of their first team players a run out with Martin Skrtel starting at the back as he looks to work on his match fitness having recently recovered from a long-term hamstring injury.

On-loan defender Steven Caulker also starts at the back alongside Skrtel, while the likes of Connor Brannagan and Sheyji Ojo also get run outs.

United have also handed a start to first team regular Antonio Valencia as he makes his first appearance since recovering from a broken foot which he suffered back in October.

Adnan Januzaj, Andreas Pereira and Paddy McNair are also in the United squad tonight.

Liverpool U21

Ward, Randall, Smith, Skrtel, Caulker, Chirivella, Ibe, Brannagan, Sinclair, Kent, Ojo.

Subs:  Whelan, George, Madger Gomes, Maguire, O’Hanlon.

Man Utd U21

J. Pereira; Valencia, Williams, McNair, Riley; El Fitouri, McTominay, Love; A. Pereira, Januzaj, Weir.

Subs: Henderson, Fosu-Mensah, Poole, Rothwell, Redmond.
