Man Utd Hope To Beat Arsenal & Chelsea To Superstar Signing With £250k-A-Week Deal

Manchester United are ready to blow Arsenal and Chelsea away by offering Zlatan Ibrahimovic a lucrative deal worth £250,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Ibrahimovic has become one of the most wanted players in the world ahead of the summer transfer window after confirming he’ll leave Paris Saint-Germain when his current contract expires in June.

The Swedish international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League with the Daily Star claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all showing a keen interest in luring the striker to England.

However, it looks as though United are ready to push the boat out to land the 34-year-old ahead of their rivals as the newspaper suggests the Red Devils are set to offer Ibrahimovic a bumper two-year deal worth a staggering £250,000-a-week to make the move to Old Trafford.

An apparent club source told the Daily Star:

“The team needs a major injection of talent and some superstar additions.

“Zlatan fits the bill. He might be getting on a bit but he can still do it at the highest level and would be worth the risk in terms of big wages because no fee is involved.”

If the striker was to accept the deal, which is worth a total of around £24m, he would become one of the highest paid players in English football and it would be a sensational coup for United.

The Manchester giants have endured a frustrating campaign and are battling to finish in the top four to secure their position in the Champions League next season.

Louis van Gaal is odds-on to leave his position as manager this summer, paving the way for Ibrahimovic to arrive at Old Trafford as he’s unlikely to agree to join United with the Dutchman in charge due to their long-running feud which dates back to their days at Ajax.

The Swedes arrival would give United some much-needed firepower as they’ve been hugely reliant on Wayne Rooney this season, forcing van Gaal to blood youngster Marcus Rashford in recent weeks while the skipper has been on the sidelines.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks and while it would be a huge coup for United if they could land Ibrahimovic, it would be a big blow to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea as the two London clubs could also certainly do with a striker of his caliber.
