Chelsea Agree £28m Midfielder Deal With Player Set To Sign 5-Year Contract

It looks like in-coming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has sealed his first new signing as the Blues have agreed a £28m deal to sign Radja Nainggolan from AS Roma.

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea are linked with Radja Nainggolan….

It looks like in-coming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has sealed his first new signing with the Mirror claiming the Blues have agreed a £28m deal to sign Radja Nainggolan from AS Roma.

Conte isn’t due to officially take over from interim boss Guss Hiddink and start his reign as Chelsea manager until after he fulfills his duties with the Italian national team at Euro 2016 this summer.

However, it looks like the 46-year-old is already planning ahead for his time at Stamford Bridge and Nainggolan has emerged as a prime target for the former Juventus coach in recent weeks.

Widespread speculation has linked Belgian international with a move to West London and the Mirror claim today that Chelsea have now moved a huge step closer to bagging his signature after supposedly agreeing a £28m deal with Roma.

The newspaper suggests that after intense negotiations between Roma, Chelsea and the midfielders representatives over the past 48 hours, a deal was finally agreed and Conte believes he’s now got his first new signing in the bag.

The Mirror also claim that personal terms have already been agreed after Roma gave their permission for Nainggolan to hold formal talks and the player is now set to sign a five-year contract with the former Premier League champions.

Conte is certainly going to be in for a busy summer as the Chelsea squad needs major work after a disastrous campaign that’s seen them relinquish their title without so much as a fight.

Nainggolan would be an excellent start as the 27-year-old is a powerful midfielder who should have no problem adjusting to life in the Premier League and of course Conte knows him well from his time in Italy.

The Belgian star is a specialist central midfielder so he’d provide real depth in that area along with Cesc Fabregas, John Obi Mikel, Nemanja Matic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek if he does end up moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
