Man City Team News: Pellegrini Confirms Four Key Men Will Miss Arsenal Clash

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that he’ll be without four first team players for the visit of Arsenal this weekend. Find out full details here.

Manchester City will look to reclaim third spot in the Premier League table when they entertain Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Manuel Pellegrini has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given mcfc.co.uk a team news and injury update.

Unfortunately the City boss revealed that he’ll be without four key players for the game with Aleksandar Kolarov, Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Pablo Zabaleta all ruled out this weekend.

Kolarov was an unused substitute against Real Madrid in midweek and he’ll miss out against Arsenal with a minor knock while Silva won’t play again this season due to a hamstring complaint that he suffered in the Champions League semi final first leg last week.

Zabaleta is nursing a calf injury and is also set to miss the final two games of the season while Kompany is under  examination from the City medical team after suffering a groin strain during the opening stages of the Madrid game.

Pellegrini told the clubs website:

“For the moment, we need to process a couple of players tomorrow but Pablo, Vincent, David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov are all out.

“We don’t have the medical examination on Vincent – he’s with the doctor. On Monday we will know.

“For Vincent it’s an issue for the future – we must talk with the doctor, with the player, with the people who will be in charge of City next year. It’s a medical issue.

“Every time he was in the XI he was fit to play, 100%. You can be sure of that.”

Arsenal arrive at the Etihad holding a three point advantage over City but Pellegrini’s men have a superior goal difference so they can climb up to third and put themselves in pole position to secure automatic Champions League qualification with a win this weekend.
