Man City vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score

Manchester City entertain Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game

Etihad Stadium Man City

Manchester City entertain Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon in a game that will have a huge say in how the top four shapes up this season.

The Gunners are in the driving seat as they head in to the game sitting third in the table and three points ahead of City so the North Londoners can secure a top three finish with a win tomorrow.

Defeat would also pile the pressure on the hosts after Manchester United moved to within just one point of City with a 1-0 victory over Norwich at Carrow Road earlier today.

However, if Manuel Pellegrini’s men could secure all three points tomorrow then they’d leapfrog Arsenal in to third spot courtesy of their superior goal difference and restore their four point advantage over United, so it’s certainly all to play for.

City will need to pick themselves up quickly though after crashing out of the Champions League having lost their second leg 1-0 at Real Madrid in midweek.

Team news

Manchester City will be without captain Vincent Kompany after he limped out of the game at Madrid with a groin injury so Eliquim Mangala will come in to the defence.

David Silva also misses out with a hamstring injury while Pablo Zabaleta [calf] and Aleksandar Kolarov [knock] have both been ruled out of the game.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after suffering a fresh knee injury in training last week so the midfielder is now set to miss the Euro’s.

Per Mertesacker will also miss the final two games of the season after picking up a hamstring injury against Norwich last week so Gabriel will start at the back.

Santi Cazorla is pushing for a recall after coming through 60 minutes for the under-21’s in midweek while Jack Wilshere will also be hoping to get some game time under his belt.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Man City 1-1 Arsenal: With their Champions League qualification hopes hanging in the balance you’d expect City to be right up for this game but it’s going to be difficult following their disappointing loss at Madrid on Wednesday night. A point for Arsenal would all-but secure third place as they are almost certain to beat Aston Villa at home on the final day of the season and I think Arsene Wenger’s men will take home the point they need tomorrow.

Betting Tips

Man City are the 6/4 favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 7/1 on a home win or 10/1 on an Arsenal win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. However, I think it will end in a draw and my prediction of 1-1 is on offer at 6/1 while I also like the look of Sergio Aguero to open the scoring at  7/2. If we combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 25/1.
