Anfield Kop

Liverpool will take on Watford at Anfield on Sunday afternoon fresh from their heroics in the Europa League.

It was another memorable European night at Anfield as the Reds eased to a 3-0 victory over Villarreal to book their place in the Europa League final thanks to a 3-1 aggregate win.

It offers the Merseysiders a chance to win some silverware and salvage something from what’s turned out to be a transition season for the club following Jurgen Klopp’s arrival to replace Brendan Rodger in October.

Liverpool have little left to play for domestically as they currently sit eighth in the Premier League table so Klopp is expected to throw everything at the Europa League and securing the Champions League qualification that comes with winning the trophy.

Watford on the other hand arrive at Anfield with also nothing other than pride left to play for as they sit comfortably in mid-table and are safe from relegation for another season.

Team news

Klopp is likely to make some changes from the side that won in midweek with goalkeeper Danny Ward getting another chance to impress while Martin Skrtel could also come in to the defence.

Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva are likely to start in midfield while Christian Benteke, Sheyi Ojo and Jordon Ibe could feature in attack with the likes of Emre Can, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge rested.

Watford have no fresh injury worries to contend with so Valon Behrami and Etienne Capoue are the clubs only absentees.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Liverpool 2-0 Watford: The Reds were impressive in midweek but I doubt we’ll see that sort of intensity from the hosts tomorrow afternoon. This is likely to play out like a typical end of season fixture with neither side having anything in particular at stake, but Liverpool should have too much quality for the Hornets in the end.

Betting Tips

Liverpool are the 1/2 favourites to win the game but if you want a little more value then my prediction of 2-0 is available at odds of 7/1 while I also like the look of Benteke to open the scoring at 10/3. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 16/1.
