Arsenal will be hoping to pip Tottenham to second place when they take on Aston Villa at the Emirates in our final Premier League game of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.

The boss confirmed a huge injury boost with the news that playmaker Mesut Ozil is back in full training and is available for selection against Villa this weekend.

The German international missed our 2-2 draw at Manchester City last weekend due to a minor hip problem but he should return to the starting eleven against Villa on Sunday.

Ozil could be joined in the line-up by Jack Wilshere as Wenger has confirmed that the midfielder is now considered fit to start after coming through 70 minutes against Man City last week.

Unfortunately, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will continue to miss out as the midfielder has been ruled out for another two months with a knee injury that he suffered in training earlier this month.

Per Mertesacker is also out of our final game against Villa with a hamstring injury while Danny Welbeck won’t be seen for quite some time after he suffered significant cartilage damage to his right knee against City on Sunday.

The attacker has been ruled out for around nine months and Wenger says everyone at the club is devastated for him as Welbeck had only recently returned from 10-months on the sidelines with a similar knee problem.

Here is what the boss told reporters this morning:
