[Video Goals] Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa: Giroud Bags Hat-Trick As Gunners Finish 2nd

By on May 15, 2016

Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick to guide Arsenal to a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Emirates as we finished above Tottenham in second position in the table.

We started brightly and opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Olivier Giroud headed home Nacho Monreal’s cross to make it two goals in two games for the French international.

We had to wait until the 79th minute to seal the three points as Giroud powered home his second before the striker completed hit hat-trick with a close range finish following a superb ball from Hector Bellerin.

A perfect day was complete when Mikel Arteta came off the bench to add a late fourth, although replays suggest it will probably go down as a Mark Bunn own goal.

The win combined with Tottenham losing 5-1 at Newcastle ensures we can celebrate St Totteringham’s Day for the 21st season after finishing second in the table.
