Attacker Refuses To Rule Out Move After Welcoming Arsenal & Man Utd Interest

Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez has refused to rule out a move this summer after welcoming interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Riyad Mahrez is flattered to be linked with Arsenal and Manchester United….

Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez has refused to rule out a move this summer after welcoming interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

Mahrez has just come off the back of a sensational season at the King Power Stadium that saw the winger score 17 goals and provide 10 assists to help Leicester secure a shock Premier League title win.

The 25-year-old’s impressive form not only saw him named as the PFA Player’s Player of the Year but he’s also attracting interest from some of England’s most powerful clubs with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal and Manchester United are among those keen on luring him away from the newly-crowned champions.

The Algerian international’s agent was quoted in the Express last month as saying that Mahrez would assess all tempting offers that come in and that the player had a 50 per cent chance of leaving Leicester this summer.

It looks like Mahrez has now also confirmed he could leave the King Power after welcoming interest from the likes of Arsenal and United while also refusing to rule out a move over the coming weeks.

When asked about interest from Arsenal, United and Barcelona, the Mirror quote Mahrez as saying:

“It is flattering to hear, as I said nothing is agreed, nothing is done,”

“We will see… For the moment I have not made a decision. We will see. It is possible that I stay, it is possible that I leave. We will see.”

Leicester are understandably desperate to keep hold of the attacker but that’s going to be extremely difficult given the amount of interest being shown by the top European clubs and now it appears the player is happy to see himself being linked with a move away.

Arsenal could be on the look out for a replacement for Theo Walcott with the England international tipped to leave after losing his first team place and Mahrez would form a devastating attack alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez if he ended up at the Emirates.

However, new United boss Jose Mourinho is expected to revamp his squad this summer and the Red Devils could certainly do with a creative threat like Mahrez in attack after only managing to score 49 league goals last season.

We’ll have to see how things progress over the coming weeks but I think Mahrez will end up leaving Leicester and he would be a superb signing for either Arsenal or United if they were able to win the race for his signature.
