The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Manchester United are linked with Fabinho….

Manchester United are lining-up a move for AC Monaco full-back Fabinho as Jose Mourinho continues to over his new squad this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.

Mourinho was appointed as the new United boss last month and has already splashed out big money on the signing of centre-back Eric Bailly from Villarreal as he looks to revamp the squad he inherited from Louis van Gaal.

It looks as though the Special One is going to continue to overhaul the United defence as the Mirror are citing a report coming from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who claims that Mourinho is now plotting a move for Fabinho.

The 22-year-old has developed in to one of the best full-backs in Ligue 1 since joining Monaco on an initial loan deal in 2013 and showed off his attacking instincts last season having scored six goals from right-back for the French outfit.

Fabinho’s impressive form has attracted plenty of interest and Gianluca Di Marzio claims that United are now working on a potential deal but will face stiff competition from Barcelona and Napoli.

We’ll have to wait and see whether United are able to win the race for his signature but if they do lure the Brazilian international to Old Trafford, it could spell the end of Matteo Darmian’s time at the club.

Reports have suggested that Mourinho is ready to sell the Italian international with the Sun claiming that Chelsea are plotting a shock move for the defender so Darmian’s exit could pave the way for Fabinho to arrive as his replacement.
