Arsenal Join Chelsea In Race For Croatia’s Euro 2016 Hero

Arsenal have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea in showing a keen interest in signing Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Perisic has been one of the stars of Euro 2016 so far with the 27-year-old scoring a superb late winner as Croatia beat Spain 2-1 last night to secure progression to the last 16 of the tournament as Group D winners.
It appears his impressive form has caught the attention of two of the Premier League’s most powerful clubs as talkSPORT are citing reports coming out of Italy that claim Arsenal have joined Chelsea in showing an interest in signing the winger this summer.
Arsene Wenger has already brought in midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer but the Gunners boss is being tipped to sign another winger as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott with the England international’s future unclear following a disappointing campaign.
The likes of Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks but it looks as though Wenger has now added Perisic to his list of potential targets.
Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is also expected to be busy in the transfer market rebuilding the squad once he officially takes over the reigns at Stamford Bridge and the Italian tactician could be eyeing Perisic as he looks to add some creativity to his attack for next season.
However, the Croatian star only joined Inter Milan from Wolfsburg last summer and enjoyed a fine debut season in Italy having scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists to help Roberto Mancini’s men finish in the top four of the Serie A table.

It remains to be seen whether Inter will be prepared to cash-in on Perisic this summer but Arsenal and Chelsea may want to try and get a deal agreed soon as competition for his signature is only going to increase the more he impresses at the Euro’s and I think the winger would be an excellent signing for either club if they could pull it off.
