Agent Confirms Offers With Arsenal & Chelsea In Hunt For £45m-Rated Striker

Arsenal and Chelsea are still hoping to sign £45m-rated Alvaro Morata this summer with his agent confirming offers from top Premier League clubs.

The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on the future of Alvaro Morata….

Arsenal and Chelsea are still hoping to sign Alvaro Morata this summer with his agent confirming offers from top Premier League clubs as the striker waits to hear what Real Madrid have planned following his move from Juventus, according to the Mirror.

Morata’s future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer after it became clear that Madrid would activate a £23m buyback clause that was inserted in to the deal that saw him join Juventus in the summer of 2014.

Juve chief executive Giuseppe Marotta revealed last week that Madrid had exercised the clause  – which will take affect from July 1st – so the striker is now set to head back to the Bernabeu facing an uncertain future.

“Real Madrid have informed us of their intention to exercise the right to buy back [Morata], we are just waiting for a written offer.” Marotta is quoted as saying by the Mirror

“Only then will we see how to proceed, but at the moment the possibility of Morata staying are slim. He will leave Turin and return to Spain.”

We’ll have to wait and see what Madrid and Zinedine Zidane plan to do with Morata but the striker has expressed his desire to play regular first team football next season and has now admitted he will find a new club if the La Liga giants make it clear he’s not in their plans.

Morata is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I do not have to prove anything to anyone. I am a player of Real Madrid and they will decide if they want me. Otherwise we will find another solution.”

Should Madrid decide to cash-in and sell the 23-year-old on at an immediate profit the Mirror claim that they could demand £45m for his signature with Arsenal and Chelsea still showing a keen interest in luring the striker to the Premier League.

Morata’s agent, Juanma Lopez, revealed last week that the player has offers from ‘top clubs’ in England – thought to be Arsenal and Chelsea – but they won’t make any decision over his future until they speak with Madrid next month.

Lopez is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail:

‘He still has offers from top clubs in the Premier League,’

‘As things stand he is a Madrid player from July 1. Whether he will stay or not, you have to ask Real Madrid.

‘We will see. We still have to talk to Zinedine Zidane, but for the moment Morata is happy.’

Arsene Wenger is on the look out for a new striker to support Olivier Giroud next season and the Gunners could now step-up their interest in Morata after missing out on Jamie Vardy – who agreed a new contract with Leicester last week.

However, incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is also on the look out for another front-man to offer competition for Diego Costa and the Italian knows Morata well having worked with him during their time at Juventus.

It’s a fascinating situation but I think the Spaniard would be an excellent signing for either London club if they are able to win the race for his signature this summer. Morata’s goal scoring record is average with just 12 goals in his 47 appearances for Juve last year but he has the potential to develop in to a world class striker.
