Brazilian Attacker ‘Anxious’ Ahead Of Making £21m Liverpool Move

Brazilian attacker Talisca has told friends and family he’s on the verge of joining Liverpool in a £21m deal from Benfica but is anxious about the move

The summer transfer window is now open for business so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Anderson Talisca…

Brazilian attacker Anderson Talisca has told friends and family he’s on the verge of joining Liverpool in a £21m deal from Benfica but is supposedly anxious about the move, according to the Express.

Talisca – full name Anderson Souza Conceicao – joined Benfica in a £3.5m move from Brazilian outfit Bahia in 2014 and developed in to a fine attacking midfielder over the past two seasons.

The 22-year-old’s 20 goals has helped Benfica win back-to-back league and cup doubles but he’s expected to leave the club after falling out-of-favour since Rui Vitoria arrived as manager last year.

After a proposed move to Chinese Super League club Shangai SIPG fell through last month, the Daily Star reported over the weekend that Liverpool were in talks over a potential £21m deal to sign Talisca this summer.

It appears the proposed move is now edging closer as the Express cite reports coming from Portuguese outlet O Jogo that claim Talisca has now told friends and family he’s on the verge of joining Liverpool but is understood to be ‘anxious’ about making the step-up to play in the Premier League.

The newspaper also suggests that Benfica will receive £21m from the Merseysiders with the attacker set to be granted an accelerated visa to play in England despite never earning a single cap for the senior Brazilian team.

We’ll have to wait and see how much truth there is behind these reports as there is always plenty of transfer gossip flying around at this time of year but speculation surrounding Talisca’s potential move to Liverpool is gathering pace.

Jurgen Klopp has already splashed out on four new signings this summer, including the big-money arrival of Sadio Mane from Southampton, so if Talisca does end up moving to Anfield he’ll become the German coaches fifth major new addition.

Talisca is predominantly an central attacking midfielder but he’s also capable of playing out on either wing so he’d give Klopp plenty of options in the final third, but I think he’d be a squad player for at least the first year to give him time to adjust to life in the Premier League.
