Liverpool Transfer News: Chiefs Fly-In To Help Push Through £21m Deal

Benfica chiefs have flown to England to help push through the £21m sale of Anderson Talisca with the Brazilian attacker strongly linked with a move to Liverpool

The summer transfer window is now open for business so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool target Anderson Talisca closes-in on a move to England…

Benfica chiefs have flown to England to help push through the £21m sale of Anderson Talisca with the Brazilian attacker strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, according to the Mirror.

Talisca – full name Anderson Souza Conceicao – joined Benfica in a £3.5m move from Brazilian outfit Bahia in 2014 and has developed in to one of the best attacking midfielders in Portuguese football over the past two seasons.

The 22-year-old has scored 20 goals to help Benfica land back-to-back league and cup doubles but he’s been tipped to leave the club this summer after falling out-of-favour under Rui Vitoria following his arrival as manager last year.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the attacker in recent weeks with the Express reporting earlier this month that Talisca has already told close friends and family he’s on his way to Anfield.

It looks like the proposed deal could be edging closer to completion as the Mirror are now citing reports coming from Portuguese outlet Record that claim Benfica representatives have flown to England to help push through a move.

The newspaper suggests that the Benfica chiefs have a deal in place with an unnamed Premier League club – thought to be Liverpool – for the £21m-rated Brazilian and are now in the UK trying to help obtain a work permit for Talisca.

Jurgen Klopp Liverpool

We’ll have to wait and see how much truth there is behind these reports but I’d personally be surprised if Jurgen Klopp brought in another attacking midfielder this summer as the Reds appear well stocked in that department following the arrival of Georginio Wijnaldum last week.

The Dutch international is set to battle it out with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane for a place in the starting eleven so attacking midfield is perhaps the last position you’d expect Klopp to further strengthen this summer.

However, I suppose you can never say never in these situations so I guess we’ll just have to await further developments in the Talisca story and see if Liverpool do end up splashing out another big fee on the Samba star.
