Arsenal Team News: Wenger Confirms These Four Players Will Start Against Man City

Arsene Wenger has offered a team news update ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday and confirmed four big-guns are set to return.

Arsene Wenger has offered a team news update ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday and some of his big-guns are set to return.

The Gunners take on City in Gothenburg in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the new season and Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez will start tomorrow evening.

Ramsey only returned to pre-season training last week following his participation at Euro 2016 where he helped Wales reach the semi finals before crashing out to Portugal.

Sanchez also resumed his pre-season preparations last Monday after being given an extended break following his exploits at the Copa America and the Chilean star is also set to face City on Sunday.

Summer signing Granit Xhaka wasn’t involved during the Gunners 8-0 win over Viking on Friday night but Wenger has revealed that the Swiss midfielder will now come in against Pep Guardiola’s side tomorrow.

Calum Chambers was left on the bench last time out but the youngster is set to come in to the defence against City as Wenger mixes things up for our final pre-season game.

The boss told Arsenal.com:

“Alexis and Aaron Ramsey will play a part in the game. Both of them are in reasonably good form physically. I took this Friday and Sunday to give competition to everybody so I will see how much and how long I will play them for.

“Granit Xhaka will come in, certainly. He did not play at all on Friday, and maybe Calum Chambers too. We’ll see in training. The players who have not played will all be involved on Sunday.”

Petr Cech is unlikely to feature tomorrow due to an eye infection but Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal should get recalls with Mathieu Debuchy and Nacho Monreal dropping out.
