Paul Pogba has landed at Manchester airport and will now head to Carrington to undergo his Manchester United medical ahead of his £89m move from Juventus, according to the Express.
Pogba’s proposed move to Old Trafford has dominated the back pages for several months with United understood to have been locked in negotiations with Juve and the midfielders agent, Mino Raiola, in recent weeks.
A breakthrough was reached over the weekend as United announced on ManUtd.com on Sunday that Pogba had been granted permission to undergo a medical with the club.
Sky Sports News claimed earlier today that the 23-year-old left Nice airport at 9.15am this morning and was heading for Manchester to wrap-up his £89m move to Old Trafford after returning to France on Saturday following an extended break in the United States.
It appears Pogba has now landed as the official Manchester Airport Twitter account shared a photo showing a private jet on the tarmac with a message saying:
An important passenger has just touched down at the airport. Can anyone guess who it might be?
The Express say that after being inundated with questions, the Manchester Airport Twitter account confirmed that it was indeed Pogba who was on the jet, while Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol also confirmed the player has arrived.
Pogba is now expected to head for United’s training base to undergo the first part of his medical, however, Sky Sports suggest that the medical examinations could take between two to three days to complete.
If true, then the world’s most expensive player may not be unveiled as a United player until Wednesday, but the good news is that this drawn-out transfer saga looks to finally be coming to it’s conclusion.
