The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Juanma has completed his move to Liverpool

Young Spanish defender Juanma has posted a photo on Twitter of him signing his contract and posing with his Liverpool shirt after completing his move to Anfield.

Juanma – full name Juan Manuel Garcia – came through Barcelona’s much-famed La Masia youth academy and played for their Youth A and B teams before leaving the club at the end of last season.

The 19-year-old struggled to make a breakthrough in to the first team set-up at the Nou Camp but was offered a trial with Liverpool where he’s been training with their Under-23 team at Melwood over the past 10 days.

The youngster impressed the Reds coaching staff and the Liverpool Echo reported yesterday that Juanma was set to undergo a medical and join Liverpool after being offered a full-time contract following his successful trial.

It appears those formalities have now been completed as the defender has taken to Twitter to share photos of him signing his contract and posing with his Liverpool shirt with a message reading:

“Thanks Liverpool FC! You’ll never walk alone!!”

Liverpool fans have been crying out for the club to sign a top class left-back to compete with Alberto Moreno with the Spaniard widely criticised for his defensive displays since joining from Sevilla two years ago, not least in the Europa League final last season.

However, Juanma is considered as one for the future and won’t be in contention for Jurgen Klopp’s first team just yet, so the teenager will play for Michael Beale’s Under-23 team for the coming season.
