Liverpool Table £25m Bid For German Star But Face Fight To Get Deal Agreed

The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool have made their move for Mahmoud Dahoud….

Liverpool have tabled an opening £25m bid for Mahmoud Dahoud but face a fight to get a deal agreed as Borussia Monchengladbach insist they won’t sell the midfielder this summer, according to the Sun.

Jurgen Klopp has been extremely active in the transfer market so far bringing in seven new players already this summer but with Joe Allen joining Stoke and Lucas Leiva tipped to follow him out the Anfield exit door, the German coach could yet bring in another midfielder.

Dahoud has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months with the Express reporting last week that the Reds were lining-up a formal move for the German under-21 international.

It appears that bid has now gone in as the Sun claim that Liverpool have submitted an opening £25m offer, however, they face a tough time persuading Gladbach to cash-in on the midfielder.

That’s because the newspaper says that the Bundesliga outfit have already knocked back Liverpool’s bid and told the Merseysiders not to bother tabling another offer as they have no intention of selling Dahoud this summer.

However, all may not be lost for Liverpool just yet as the midfielder has just two years remaining on his contract and has so far refused to sign an extension so his value is going to drop considerably over the next 12 months.

Therefore, Klopp may be able to persuade Gladbach that they should cash-in now while Dahoud’s value remains high rather than risk selling him on the cheap next summer if the 20-year-old refuses to sign a new deal.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but Dahoud would be an exciting addition to the Liverpool squad if they manage to get a deal agreed for his signature this summer.
