Liverpool Already Planning Fresh Double Swoop After Failed Summer Bids

Liverpool are already planning a fresh double swoop for Mahmoud Dahoud and Christian Pulisic after failing with summer bids to sign the exciting duo

The summer transfer window is now closed for another year but it’s not time to look back on those deals that didn’t go through and those that are being lined-up for the future. Today, Liverpool are eyeing a fresh double swoop…

Liverpool are already planning a fresh double swoop for Mahmoud Dahoud and Christian Pulisic after failing with summer bids to sign the exciting duo, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds were strongly linked with a move for Pulisic during the closing stages of the summer transfer window with the Mirror reporting last weekend that Liverpool had submitted an opening £11m bid for the Borussia Dortmund winger.

The Bunesliga giants refused to sell the American international so late in the window but the Liverpool Echo claim the Merseysiders retain a strong interest in the 17-year-old and will make a renewed attempt to sign him in the near future.

Pulisic is one of the most exciting young attackers in German football and obviously Jurgen Klopp knows the player well from his time at Dortmund having been the one who promoted the youngster to the first team squad 18 months ago.

It seems Klopp is desperate to be reunited with Pulisic at Anfield but we’ll have to wait and see whether Dortmund are more receptive to cashing-in on the talented teenager when Liverpool come calling next time.

The Reds also failed in their attempts to sign Dahoud in the summer as Borussia Monchengladbach were reluctant to lose the central midfielder having already sold Granit Xhaka to Arsenal.

However, once again, the Liverpool Echo claim that after seeing their £25m bid rejected, Liverpool will renew their interest in the German under-21 international as Kopp is understood to be determined to lure the player to Anfield.

Signing Dahoud should be more straightforward in 12 months time as he’s refused to sign a contract extension with Gladbach and is therefore expected to be sold next summer when he’ll have just one year left on his deal.

The midfielder is considered as one of the best young players in German football and has a bright future ahead of him so he’d be an excellent addition to Klopp’s squad if Liverpool are successful in signing him next summer.
