[Videos] Man Utd Duo Return As 24-Man Squad Trains Ahead Of Zorya Clash
Man Utd have been boosted by the return of Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Jose Mourinho put a 24-man squad through their paces at Carrington today.
Manchester United have been boosted by the return of Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Jose Mourinho put a 24-man squad through their paces at Carrington today.
Mkhitaryan has missed United’s last four games against Feyenoord, Watford, Northampton and Leicester after aggravating a niggling thigh injury during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City two weeks ago.
However, the Armenian international was out on the training pitch with the rest of the first team squad on Wednesday afternoon and could now force his way back in to Mourinho’s squad for the visit of Zorya Luhansk on Thursday night.
Martial also sat out the win over Leicester with a minor ankle injury but the French international was also among the players who took part in training at Carrington today meaning he too could be back in the frame to feature at Old Trafford tomorrow.
However, Luke Shaw was absent at the open training session today with the left-back set to miss his second consecutive match after sitting out the resounding 4-1 victory over the defending Premier League champions on Saturday with an apparent groin injury.
Phil Jones was the other big name absentee at training as the centre-back continues to nurse a knee ligament injury so he will join Shaw on the sidelines for tomorrow’s Europa League clash with Zorya.
United head in to the game after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Feyenoord in their group stage opener two weeks ago so Mourinho will be keen to get their campaign back on track with a positive result against the Ukrainian outfit tomorrow.
