I ‘Dream’ Of Joining Arsenal – Midfielder Issues Come-And-Get-Me Plea To Wenger

Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsene Wenger after admitting it’s his dream to play for Arsenal one day

The summer transfer window is closed for another year but it’s now time to look back on those deals that didn’t go through and those that are being lined-up for the future. Today, Corentin Tolisso has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsenal

Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsene Wenger after admitting it’s his dream to play for Arsenal one day, according to the talkSPORT.

Tolisso has been on the books at Lyon since joining the clubs youth set-back in 2007 and has come through the ranks to become one of the most exciting young midfielders in French football since breaking in to the first team in 2013.

Having been a regular over the past two years, the 22-year-old has continued to be a key part of the Lyon side this season with the youngster scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists in his ten appearances for the Ligue 1 club so far.

That kind of form has attracted interest from top clubs all over Europe with talkSPORT claiming that Arsenal are long term admirers and are among the clubs who are considering a move for the French under-21 international.

It looks like the Gunners have now been handed a major boost in their pursuit after Tolisso appeared to issue a come-and-get-me plea to Arsene Wenger after admitting he dreams to play for Arsenal and says the Premier League is a league he’d love to play in.

Tolisso is quoted as saying by talkSPORT:

“Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal.

“I love the Premier League and I think I have the profile.

“This is the championship that also offers more competition, which is the most open, the most contested and most spectacular.”

Tolisso is predominantly a central midfielder – which is an area Arsenal are currently well stocked in – but with Santi Cazorla’s contract due to expire in the summer and no extension on the table as yet, we may be eyeing the Lyon man as a potential replacement.

There are also doubts over the long-term future of Jack Wilshere at the Emirates as he’s been forced out on loan to Bournemouth and will have just one year remaining on his deal at the end of the season.

If Wilshere fails to convince Wenger during his loan spell on the south coast that he has what it takes to make it at Arsenal, then we could see him make a permanent move away in the summer leaving another void to be filled in the middle of the park.

Tolisso is certainly an exciting prospect and we all know Wenger likes to shop in the French market so I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumours of a move to north London continue to grow over the coming months.
