Tottenham Handed Major Injury Boost Ahead Of Arsenal Showdown

Tottenham have been handed a major injury boost with a key man expected to return in time to take on Arsenal at the Emirates in a months time

Tottenham have been handed a major injury boost with Harry Kane expected to return in time to take on Arsenal at the Emirates next month, according to the Express.

Kane has been on the sidelines since suffering an ankle injury during Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Sunderland last month and it was initially feared the striker was set for up to ten weeks on the treatment table after ankle ligament damage was confirmed.

However, boss Mauricio Pochettino admitted recently that the latest scan results were positive and while he refused to put any firm deadline on Kane’s return to action, it appears he could now be back well ahead of schedule.

The Express are reporting that Spurs now expect their star striker to be back in time for their trip across north London to take on rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on November 6th.

The news will be a huge boost to Pochettino as in Kane’s absence summer signing Vincent Janssen has been the only recognised striker to choose from and the Dutchman is yet to open his Premier League account following his move from AZ Alkmaar.

Despite their lack of options through the middle, Spurs have still managed to win their lack four matches to remain second in the table with Korean forward Heung-min Son excelling with three goals and four assists to his name.

However, Pochettino will be desperate to have Kane available for the Arsenal game as the 2015/16 golden boot winner has netted four goals in his last four appearances against the Gunners.
