Manchester United have suffered another huge injury blow with Paul Pogba limping out of their Europa League group stage clash with Fenerbahce this evening.

United’s world record summer signing once again started in midfield as Jose Mourinho’s side looked to take a huge step towards qualification to the knockout stages with a win over in Turkey.

However, the game got off to a nightmare start as Moussa Sow gave the hosts a second minute lead with a superb effort and United’s night went from bad to worse when Pogba was forced off shortly before half time.

The French international scuffed a shot and immediately signaled to the bench that he had picked up an injury and while the £89m man tried to run it off following some treatment, he was eventually substituted.

The news will be a huge blow to United as the injury problems are mounting during a difficult period for the club that’s seen them fall eight points adrift in the title race following last weekend’s disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Burnley.

United recently lost Antonio Valencia for around six weeks with a fractured arm, Eric Bailly isn’t expected back until the New Year following knee surgery while Chris Smalling is also still nursing a foot injury.

So Mourinho will be praying that the Pogba injury isn’t anything serious as they prepare for Sunday’s trip to Wales where they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The only positive is that we then have an international break so Pogba will have two weeks to recover from his injury as he’ll now be a doubt for France’s upcoming international games.
