Swansea vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction

Manchester United will be looking to get their season back on track when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

United have endured a difficult week as last weekend’s hugely frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Burnley was followed by Thursday night’s 2-1 defeat at Fenerbahce which leaves their Europa League hopes hanging in the balance.

A poor start to the season has left the Red Devils sitting eighth in the Premier League table and a full 10 points adrift of leaders Chelsea so Jose Mourinho will be desperate to get his side back to winning ways on Sunday – although the Portuguese coach will be forced to watch from the stands after being hit by a one-match ban by the FA.

On paper this should be a good game for United as Swansea sit level on points with Sunderland at the bottom of the table and five points from safety having won just one of their opening 10 league games.

However, the flip-side is that Bob Bradley and his men should be fighting for every ball tomorrow as they look to boost their survival hopes with a positive result against the 20-time champions.

Team news

United will hand a late fitness test to Paul Pogba as the midfielder is a doubt after being forced off with a leg injury on Thursday night while Ander Herrera misses out through suspension following his dismissal against Burnley last week.

Chris Smalling is also still a doubt after missing the last three games with a foot injury so he could join Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia on the sidelines.

Michael Carrick is expected to come back in to the side after being rested in midweek while Zlatan Ibrahimovic should also be recalled up front.

Swansea are hoping Jefferson Montero will be fit to return to the squad after recovering from a calf injury while Kyle Naughton has overcome illness so is expected to start at right-back.

BACK UNITED TO BEAT SWANSEA AT CRAZY ODDS OF 5/1

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Swansea 1-2 Man Utd: United are under real pressure to get a result here and while they were extremely poor against Fenerbahce, I think they were unfortunate against Burnley last week after failing to score any of the 37 chances they created. Swansea have looked poor this season and if United can create even half that number tomorrow, I’m confident they’ll take home the three points.
