Manchester United will be looking to close in on the top four in the Premier League table when they take on Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Here is the team  I think Jose Mourinho will pick for the game:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea was rested for Thursday night’s Europa League win over Zorya so the Spaniard is expected to come back in to the side on Sunday with Sergio Romero dropping back to the bench.

Defence: Antonio Valencia should return at right-back after being left back in Manchester for the trip to Ukraine so Ashley Young will drop out while Phil Jones is also expected to get a recall after being rested in midweek.

Eric Bailly made a successful return to action after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for two months so he should retain his place at the back as long as he didn’t suffer any reaction.

Matteo Darmian could be restored at left-back as Luke Shaw has been ruled out of the game after failing to recover from the knock that kept him out of the last few games. Chris Smalling also remains on the sidelines with a broken toe.

Midfield: Michael Carrick is another player who expected to get a recall after being rested for the Zorya game so the experienced midfielder should line-up alongside Ander Herrera in the middle of the park.

Attack: Wayne Rooney was back in the side on Thursday night but I think we’ll see him drop back to the bench with Paul Pogba deployed in the advanced central midfield role.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan continued his fine recent form with a superb solo game against Zorya so I expect he’s done enough to retain his place but Anthony Martial could come in for Juan Mata to freshen things up in attack.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic should once again lead the line up front after scoring his 7th goal in 6 games last night.

Here is how we think United will line-up:
