Manchester City take on Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening in a huge top-of-the-table clash. Here is the side we think Pep Guardiola will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Claudio Bravo has come under intense criticism this season since joining from Barcelona in the summer but he’s Guardiola’s No.1 and is expected to start once again this weekend.

Defence: John Stones will be assessed ahead of the game after being forced off with a knee injury during the early stages of City’s win at Hull City on Monday so Alexandre Kolarov is on stand-by to come in to the back four.

Vincent Kompany remains out with a knee injury which has hampered him in recent weeks so Nicolas Otamendi will continue in the heart of defence while Gael Clichy should keep his place at left-back.

Bacary Sagna started at the KC Stadium last time out but I expect Guardiola to turn to Pablo Zabaleta for this crucial game at Anfield on Saturday.

Midfield: Ilkay Gundogan has been cruelly ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee ligament injury so Yaya Toure should be given another chance to impress in the middle of the park.

Fernandinho made a successful return from suspension earlier in the week so he’ll marshall the midfield with Fernando having to make do with a place on the bench.

Attack: Sergio Ageuro is back from his four-match suspension so the Argentinean international is expected to come straight back in to the side up front which will be a huge boost for the Citizens.

Nolito is the man most likely to make way as Kevin De Bruyne will start in attack along with David Silva and Raheem Sterling. Kelechi Iheanacho will also have to make do with a place on the bench despite scoring during the recent win over Hull.

Here is how I think we’ll see City line-up:
