[Video Goals] Tottenham 2-0 Aston Villa: Son On Target As Spurs Slay Villains

By on January 8, 2017

Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating Aston Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino made wholesale changes to his starting eleven but the fringe players struggled to break down the Championship side during the opening forty-five minutes as the two sides went in to half-time level at 0-0.

However, Spurs finally broke Villa’s resolve in the 71st minute when Ben Davies was on hand to head home from 8 yards following a cross from substitute Kevin Nkoudou.

Any hopes Villa had of stealing an equaliser and forcing a replay were dampened when Hueng -min Son swept home from a Moussa Sissoko cross in the 80th minute to seal a 2-0 win for Tottenham.

The victory sees the north Londoners book their place in the fourth round draw which will take place on Monday evening.
