By on January 28, 2017

Chelsea eased in to the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Brentford at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

The Blues got off to the perfect start when Willian curled home a superb free-kick in the 14th minute to give the hosts an early lead before Pedro made it 2-0 when he raced on to a pass from Michy Batshuayi to slot home in the 21st minute.

Branislav Ivanovic put doubts over his future to the back of his mind as he came off the bench to drill home the third midway through the second half.

The victory was then sealed when Chelsea were awarded a late penalty after Ivanovic was fouled in the area. Batshuayi made no mistake from the spot to make it 4-0 in the 81st minute.

The comfortable victory books Chelsea’s place in the fifth round of the FA Cup and was the perfect preparation for Tuesday’s huge Premier League game at Liverpool.
