Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea Target Lined-Up For £10m Deadline Day Move

A Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea target is being lined-up for a surprise £10m move before the January transfer window slams shut.

Managers are now planning late moves in the winter window as well as looking ahead to the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Kieran Tierney is lined-up for a late move to Sunderland….

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea could all be set to miss out on the signature of Kieran Tierney with Sunderland plotting a surprise late swoop for the Celtic defender, according to a report in the Mirror.

Tierney has been with Celtic his entire career having joined their youth set-up at just seven years old and progressed through the ranks before breaking in to the first team squad in 2015.

The 19-year-old is now an established member of Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven and drew plenty of praise for his performance during Celtic’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City in their Champions League group game.

The left-back’s form has led to strong interest from south of the border with the Mirror reporting earlier this month that Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs showing a keen interest ahead of the summer.

Left-back has become something of a problem area for United as none of their current options have established themselves as Jose Mourinho’s first choice on a regular basis so the Portuguese coach could have been eyeing Tierney as a long-term solution.

Arsenal are also seemingly in the market for a new left-back with Kieran Gibbs being tipped to leave this summer and Tierney has the potential to develop in to a player who could eventually oust Nacho Monreal from the first team.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the Scottish international as Antonio Conte looks to bring in competition for Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back position, so it looked like the race for Tierney’s signature was hotting up ahead of the summer.

However, the trio could all be set to miss out as the Mirror are now reporting that Sunderland are plotting a late move to snap-up the Celtic star before the January transfer window slams shut on Tuesday night.

The newspaper says the Black Cats are hoping to steal a march on the likes of United, Arsenal and Chelsea over the next two days by wrapping-up a £10m deal for Tierney on deadline day.

David Moyes is desperate to strengthen his squad to aid their survival bid during the second half of the season and Tierney would be a great addition if Sunderland were able to push through a deal over the next 36 hours.
