President Confirms He’s Ready To Sell £60m-Rated Arsenal Target To Man Utd

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says he’s ready to sell £60m-rated Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette to Manchester United this summer

The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, more on the future of Alexandre Lacazette…

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says he’s ready to sell £60m-rated Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette if Manchester United come calling this summer, according to the Metro.

Lacazette is enjoying another superb season in front of goal with 21 goals in his 24 games so far to enhance his reputation as one of the deadliest strikers in European football.

The French international was linked with a number of top clubs, including several from the Premier League, last summer before being persuaded to sign a new deal with Lyon.

However, Lacazette was quoted in the press as saying earlier this month that he’s decided this will be his last season at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais as he’s ready to take the next step in his career.

The striker was quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I think that this summer will be the time where I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person.

“I am going to continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer.”

The Mirror named Arsenal as one of the clubs showing a keen interest in Lacazette and said that the Gunners have already been quoted £60m to sign the striker at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger could be eyeing his compatriot as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez with the Chilean international’s future at the Emirates in doubt as he approaches the final year of his contract.

However, it looks as though Arsenal will face stiff competition for his signature as the Metro say that Man Utd are also among the clubs being linked with a move for Lacazette this summer.

And Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has now opened the door to a switch to Old Trafford after admitting that he’s ready to do business if the likes of United or Barcelona come calling.

He’s quoted by the Metro as saying:

‘If Barcelona or Manchester United one day present a suitable offer, we won’t stop Lacazette [from leaving],’

United are in need of striking reinforcements with Jose Mourinho’s side registering the fewest goals out of the ‘big six’ clubs this season and a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic is desperately needed.

Lacazette has proven himself to be a potent marksman in France so he has the potential to be real hit in the Premier League but we’ll have to wait and see whether United, or indeed Arsenal, decide to formalise their interest over the coming months.
